Safety

We take the safety of our users very seriously, and therefore we have developed what we call a 360 degrees safety system. This system is based on manual and automatic surveillance of all content and activities on goSupermodel, and we constantly make improvements to the system.

What YOU can do to stay safe

The goSupermodel safety measures are extensive, but there are still many things that you can do to stay safe when using goSupermodel and being online in general:
  • Never give out personal information: Passwords, last name, home address, e-mail, phone number, name of school, etc.
  • Keep your passwords private and never share them with anyone except for a parent. If you use a public computer (e.g. at a school or library), you should never save your login!
  • If you get a bad feeling about something, ask for help. Your parents know how to handle this stuff, so don't try to handle it alone. You can also send an e-mail to admin-us@gosupermodel.com and we will help you.
  • Never meet an online friend alone. Online friends are not the same as your real-life friends. If an online friend is asking to meet you, talk to your parents.
  • You shouldn't do anything online that costs money without asking your parents first.

What WE do to make goSupermodel safe

  • 24-hour surveillance
We constantly monitor all content and activities on goSupermodel. The surveillance is handled both manually by trained moderators and administrators, and automatically by special systems that control the content.
  • Word filters
Our automatic surveillance system is equipped with several advanced language filters protect the users against profane and otherwise unwanted language such as harsh, vulgar, racist, sexual, etc. words.
  • Automatic removal
We remove all obvious occurrences of phone numbers, e-mail addresses and passwords on goSupermodel. We do this to make sure that our users do not share such details with each other.
  • Picture approval
All pictures that are uploaded to goSupermodel are manually screened before they enter the site. This way we ensure that our users are not exposed to inappropriate pictures on the site.
  • Logging
All content is logged and stored in databases for 1 year. The data will form the basis in case of a police investigation.
  • Report function
The report function allows a user to report another user that does not abide by the rules or is otherwise behaving inappropriately. In case we find something that may be in conflict with the law, we will immediately contact the police.
  • Block function
A user can block other (annoying) models, meaning that they can't write goMessages to her.
  • Help section
Our help section provides users with helpful tips and support in case of problems on goSupermodel.
  • User education
Through campaigns on goSupermodel we do a lot to educate our users on safe and good online behaviour.
  • Social responsibility
We participate in many seminars on online safety for children. We do this in order to emphasize the necessity of constantly improving and developing new systems to ensure better online safety for children.
In cooperation with other media companies, NGOs, and industry organizations in Denmark, we have initiated a work group to share experiences and discuss how to improve online safety for children in general.
